Lower Swatara Lions Club

The Lower Swatara Lions Club is part of PA District 14T which is part of the larger body Lions Club International (LCI), the world's largest service organization.  We have been serving the Middletown and Lower Swatara communities since 1974.  The Lions are your friends and neighbors, members of the community, who volunteer their time to serve there community, meet humanitarian needs, and promote understanding through the Lions Club.

The Lower Swatara Lions Club meets regularly on the second Thursday of every month at 6:30 PM at the Lions Club Building (2 Theodore Avenue). All of our meetings are open to the public, so if you are interested in becoming a member or finding out more about what we do, feel free to drop in!

What do we do?

The Lower Swatara Lions Club is known in the local community for several events which we put on. Below are just a sample of these events! We are always looking for new members with new ideas and new ways in which we can serve the local community.

Adopt A Highway
Adopt A Highway
We participate in an adopt a highway event twice a year, cleaning a two mile stretch of Fulling Mill Road.
Chicken BBQ
Chicken BBQ
We are well known for our Chicken BBQs which we will hold at least once a year.  We prepare well over 200 chicken half meals, using the proceeds to further our outreach into the community!
Easter Egg Hunt

Every year, on the Saturday before Easter, we hold our annual Easter Egg Hunt! This event is open to the public, and we stuff 1000s of eggs for the kids to find!
Food Drive

In October of each year, we hold our annual food drive, donating goods to the local food bank.
Halloween Parade

The third Thursday of October, we hold our annual Halloween Parade in Shope Gardens.  This is a big event and lots of fun for both participants and onlookers!
Stockings for Soldiers
Stockings for Soldiers
Partnering with the local funeral homes, we participate in Stockings For Soldiers.  We collect items and stuff stockings to be sent to our men and women deployed overseas for Christmas.
